3: APPLICATION FOR EXEMPTIONS/CREDIT
If you are eligible for exemption(s), complete the Application for Credit/Exemptions Form and submit the completed form to admis@sta.uwi.edu
Do not register for the courses for which you applied to be exempted from. Instead, there are some courses listed under Semester 2 that you may be able to do in Semester 1. You may register for one or more of these courses as needed.
· Full-time students should register for no more than five (5) courses in a given semester.
· Part-time students should register for no more than four (4) courses in a given semester.
NOTE:
Exemptions with credit may be granted to students who obtained Grades 1 and 2 for CAPE Units 1 and 2 in the following subjects as shown below:

To access online registration, log in to the Student Portal at https://my.uwi.edu. [Your user ID is your 8-digit or 9-digit student registration ID number. On first login your password is your date of birth in the format YYYYMMDD. Click on MySecureArea and register for your courses.]
You can register online wherever there is a stable and secure internet connection:
a. Read the Online Registration Instruction Guide
b. Follow the instructions to select courses online (be guided by the provisional academic advising sheet for your respective programme).
NOTE: At the BEGINNING of each academic year you are required to register for:
Semester 1 and All Year-Long courses (where applicable) ONLY. To select Year Long course(s) on-line, with no other course(s) to read in Semester 1, students must first select the course REGS 1000 in Semester 1
Registration for Semester 2 courses takes place at the beginning of Semester 2 normally in January of each year. Year Long course(s) registration and fees will appear on your Registration Fee Assessment/ Invoice under Semester 2.
