Dr. Randy Seepersad is a Criminologist and Coordinator of the Criminology Unit at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago.  Dr. Seepersad holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto and an M.Phil. degree from the University of Cambridge.  Dr. Seepersad specializes in research methodology and statistics and has a research interest in economic deprivation and crime, gang violence, youth crime and justice, and penology. Recent books which were published by Dr. Seepersad include Gangs in the Caribbean (2013), Making Deterrence Work: Problems and Possibilities (2014) and Crime and Security in Trinidad and Tobago (2016). Dr. Seepersad has also published in a number of peer refereed journals including the Caribbean Journal of Criminology, Justice Report, International Journal of Law, Crime and Justice, Journal of School Violence and the Journal of Gang Research.
