Some Information About Mr. Maharaj

I am a student currently enrolled in the Computer Science (Special) programme with a little experience in this field through prior studies in Information Technology at the Secondary Level. I have always desired to learn about the means of creating and manipulating technology and thus, I applied to this programme in hopes of accomplishing that goal. Learning new things is something that I find enjoyable whether it be academic or otherwise, and I am always looking for ways to expand my knowledge and grow from what I’ve learnt.

Solution Strategy

I have never done any sort of decryption before and I found myself to be a bit lost when I made my attempt to complete the challenge. I was able to successfully transform the binary into ASCII characters however, I wasn’t sure what the next step was from there. I was unaware of what method should be used to decrypt the seemingly random list of letters and characters before me. I noticed that there were some numbers present that were only 0s and 1s and thought that maybe this challenge was one to find the message within a message but I was wrong about that. Eventually, I noticed that certain characters repeated with certain patterns and thought that it could be that the ASCII characters are shifted. Only when I had followed that train of thought did, I see the intended message.
