All work at the Centre is wrapped around its core material resource, The International Cocoa Genebank, Trinidad (ICGT). The ICGT is the most diverse, public collection of cocoa plant material in the world, and was designated a Universal Collection by Bioversity International. In an uncertain future of food security and climate change, the genebank with over 2400 varieties is pivotal for the survival of the cocoa industry. To support the maintenance of this essential collection, we invite you to book a tour or explore our other preservation mechanisms including the partners in conservation programme, the save a tree campaign or the Fundare chocolate bar.
