Available to Student or Alumni

Official Transcripts

An official transcript is signed and the name and mailing address of an

Organization/Agency/Institution/University must be included.

Available to current students and graduates/alumni of the St Augustine Campus of The UWI

Student Copies of Transcripts

Student copy transcripts are signed and either stamped or contain a watermarked student copy imprint. It is addressed to the student based on the information in our records.

Available to current students and graduates/alumni of the St Augustine Campus of The UWI

Certification of Diploma/Certificate/Degree

A copy (often a photocopy) of your original degree certificate that has on it an endorsement that it is a true copy of the original document.

Only Available to graduates/alumni of the St Augustine Campus of The UWI in possession of their original degree certificate

Verification of Awards (Completion Letters)

This  letter officially confirms that you have fulfilled your degree requirements and completed your programme of study and you have been awarded by The UWI.

 

It must be addressed to an

Organization/Agency/Institution/University.

Only Available to graduates/alumni of the St Augustine Campus of The UWI who have been awarded in the Student Administration System.

 

The award would appear on your unofficial student transcript available in your student portal.

Language of Instruction Letters

 This is a modified verification of award letter that identifies the Language of Instruction (English)

Only Available to graduates/ of the St Augustine Campus of The UWI  who have been awarded in the Student Administration System.

 

A transcript reflects in chronological order the complete and unabridged record of courses for which the student is registered and grades earned.

Status Letters are available for continuing students at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Levels:

Undergraduate Students complete the StatusLetterRequestFormJuly2024.pdf (uwi.edu) and submit to the required  Student Affairs (Admissions) email address along with proof of payment. Email contacts are found on the form.

Postgraduate Students complete the PG Status Letter form and make payment via the Online Payment Portal  and select the PG Status Letter Option.

Email the payment receipt and completed Status Letter Request form to marcus.brooks@sta.uwi.edu for processing.

 

Visa Letters are available for continuing students at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Levels:

Undergraduate Students complete the UG Visa Request Form  and submit to admis@sta.uwi.edu along with proof of payment  along with a scan of the biodata page of your passport for processing.

Postgraduate Students complete the PG Visa Letter form and make payment via the Online Payment Portal  and select the PG Status Letter Option.

Email the payment receipt and completed Status Letter Request form along with a scan of the biodata page of your passport to marcus.brooks@sta.uwi.edu for processing.

  1. Your UWI identification number
  2. Your date of birth
  3. Name under which you were registered
  4. Last Faculty registered in
  5. The programme(s) pursued at UWI
  6. Your year of admission and year of graduation
  7. Your present address and contact number
  8. Address where transcript will be sent

Only persons who completed programmes at the St Augustine Campus can request our services.

How much do I need to pay?

The cost of each official or student copy of a transcript or verification letter is US$6.00 or TT$42.00. 

 

For students with multiple awards/degrees/programmes, the fee applies to each individual programme award or record request.

 

The cost of a Request for Certification of Diploma/Certificate/Degree is TT$15.00 per copy. A legal-sized colour copy of the original certificate must be uploaded to accompany this request 

 

How can I pay for my service request?

For Online Payments

For Payment at the Bursary's Cashier, St Augustine

Payment may also be made by cash or cheque to the Bursary's cashier at the St Augustine Campus via Debit Card,  Credit Card or by Bank Draft, or International Money Order, made payable to The University of the West Indies.

Transcripts will be processed ONLY when the accurate proof of payment is submitted to the Transcripts Unit, Examinations by upload on this form and subsequently verified.

How long does it take usually to process my request?

There is no RUSH Transcript Request Option available at this time.

 

Processing time is normally 5 working days for all Faculties except for the Faculty of Medical Sciences: 10 working days.

 

Processing times are subject to the completeness of the record and processing volumes.

 

Uncollected Transcripts and other documents are destroyed after six (6) months.

Would there be any factors that may delay the processing of my transcript?

Transcript and other requests cannot be processed if you have financial (Accounts Receivable) holds (including Library Fines) or Courses in Progress/Missing grades.

Before submitting your request, please ensure to contact the Bursary's Office at 662-2002 (ext. 84137/83380) or the Library at 82132 to resolve any holds. You may also seek assistance from the Bursary Help Desk at https://sta.uwi.edu/bursary/service-desk  

Please reach out to the respective Faculty where the course(s) were offered if you encounter any missing grades or registration issues.

The University of the West Indies cannot be held responsible for processing errors due to inaccuracies or incompleteness in the information provided on the transcript request.

Please ensure that both the recipient's name and the address where you wish the transcript to be sent are accurate.

You should use the original receipt email received on submission to follow up on your request.

General Processing Information

  1. Requests can only be honoured if they contain the signature of the graduate/student  and the graduate/student is financially cleared. 
  2. The cost of each official or student copy transcript is US$6.00 or TT$42.00.
  3. Transcripts are usually processed within five (5) working days of the receipt of request. Processing may be longer at peak periods or for requests made by students who completed prior to 1975. Office hours are Mondays - Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Financial Hold

Students at the St. Augustine Campus are required to clear any hold from your record before transcripts can be issued.  You  are advised to check  your online student account and please contact the Bursary for more information. You can check your online student account (click here ).

Methods of request

  1. All Transcript Request Forms may be submitted electronically with proof of payment attached to transcripts@sta.uwi.edu 
  2. Student copies and official copies of transcripts may be dispatched electronically to the email address/es provided or dispatched physically by utilizing the courier service option described below.  
  3. The following forms of payments are accepted at the Cashier located at the Main Administration Building from Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm and closed for lunch from noon to 1.00 pm: Cash, Cheques, Linx, Credit Cards; International Money Orders which are cashable in Trinidad.

Please note: Processing of requests for transcript will commence only on receipt of actual payment.

Authorization Form:

If you are authorizing another person to make the necessary payment and collect the transcript when completed, please indicate on the Transcript Request Form

Via Courier

    1. Hard copies of transcripts may be collected via courier service.  Please click on Online Payment Facility in the Menu Bar to pay for courier service to your region.  Attach proof of payment when submitting your Transcript Request Forms electronically to transcripts@sta.uwi.edu.
    2. Your request will be processed and dispatched to the address provided on your Transcript Request Form via courier service.
