The University of the West Indies (UWI) St. Augustine Industry Innovation Lab (SAIIL), coordinated by the St. Augustine Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (STACIE), with support from Connect Bogotá, invited solvers from across LAC to come up with innovative solutions to the ten challenges. After receiving many interesting solver proposals, solvers from Trinidad and Colombia gained an opportunity to pitch to industry experts in February. A total of 18 pitches were evaluated by 8 companies, with 4 companies proceeding to move to contracting solvers of one or more of the solutions. The companies hailed from a diverse cross section of the productive sector, ranging from oil and gas, manufacturing and ICT. The winning solutions came from businesses and universities.
