Joseph Jason Cotton
Biography
Joseph Jason Cotton is an Economist in the Research Department of the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago. He currently functions within the Public Finance Section with responsibility for academic and policy research, routine reporting and economic forecasting in areas related to the Central government's public finances. "Jason" as he is commonly known, is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, with MSc. and BSc. Degrees in Economics. In addition, his six-year tenure at the Bank has afforded him the opportunity to attend several professional development courses in areas related to macroeconomics and fiscal policy. His research interests include: Public Finances and Sustainable Development and he has made related presentations at national and regional conferences.
Outside of his academic pursuits, Jason's involvement in Toastmasters (a leadership and public speaking development organisation) has contributed to his passion for motivational speaking. He is also an aspiring author and is on the leadership team of the Arima Evangelical Church. He lives by the philosophy: "I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me".
