Mr. Kyren Greigg

Biography

Mr. Kyren Greigg has been employed at the Monetary, Fiscal and Trade Division (now called the Economic Management Division) of the Ministry of Finance as an Economist for the past ten (10) years.
He is currently on secondment to the HEU, Centre for Health Economics, UWI as a Junior Research Fellow were he conducts research in the areas of Poverty and Labour Market Studies. He also lectures at the undergraduate level in the Economics Department of UWI for courses in introductory microeconomics and macroeconomics. In the past he has been an adjunct lecturer in introductory courses in statistics and Business and Society in the Caribbean at UWI. In addition he is also the Director of Business Development and Finance of the National Institute for Promoting Responsible Fathers, an NGO with a focus on promoting fatherhood and responsible fathering.
Mr. Greigg was involved in the development of a Social Accounting Matrix for Trinidad and Tobago at the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute for Social and Economic Studies in 2004.
Mr. Greigg has also attended a course at the International Monetary Fund’s Institute in Washington D.C. on Financial Programming and Policies. This course dealt with developing a stabilization program for a country experiencing balance of payment and financial and fiscal difficulties.
His areas of specialization are macroeconomic analysis, fiscal policy analysis, energy economics, labour economics, economic modeling and, data analysis.
His main extra-curricular activity is cricket umpiring in the North Zone Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association, where he is an umpire in training.
In terms of academic qualifications Mr. Greigg holds a:

  1. B.Sc. Economics, Minor Finance (UWI);
  2. M.Sc. Economics (UWI);
  3. M.Sc. Energy Studies, with a Specialization in International Oil and Gas Management (University of Dundee); and is currently pursuing an
  4. International MBA specializing in Energy Management (at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business, UWI) (with an expected completion date of June 2012).

He is also the father of 3 children and the husband to 1 wife.
