Peter Mitchell

 

Mr. Peter Eversley Mitchell is a Senior Planning Officer in the Socio-Economic Policy Planning Division, Ministry of Planning and the Economy and has been in the Public Service since August 1993. Mr. Mitchell has acted in senior public service positions in various Government Ministries mostly in the area of policy planning and general administration. He possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics as well as a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Regulation and Policy both from the University of the West Indies.

 

Other professional development qualifications include a Certificate in Management Information Systems from ROYTEC, a Certificate in Telecommunications Management from the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO), Organisational Development and Change Management from UWI – Institute of Business (now Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business), ICT Negotiation Strategies from the Commonwealth Secretariat (ComSec), Achieving Project Management Excellence from the International Institute for Learning (IIL) and Performance Management for Government from the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business (GSB).

 

At Present, Mr. Mitchell is the Ministry Representative on the Economic Development Board and he also sits on a number of Inter-Ministerial Committees and Technical Committees related to economic policy. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation (TTPOST). Mr. Mitchell has also represented the Government of Trinidad and Tobago at regional and international conferences, in addition to serving as a Liaison Officer at the 5th Summit of the Americas and a Senior Liaison Officer at the 21st Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, both held in Trinidad and Tobago in 2009.

 

He is currently a member of the Executive Committee of the Trinidad and Tobago Economics Association (2011-2013 term).
