Lauren Pragg
Lauren Pragg is a PhD candidate in the Social and Political Thought department at York University, Toronto. Her work centres around queerness, identity, and diaspora, focusing especially on Trinidad. She would also like to query the ways in which heteronormativity is used to uphold privilege, ideas of citizenship and the nation in Caribbean states, their diasporas, and the academy. Her dissertation project will focus on intergenerational experiences of queer lives and identities among Trinidadian women. Outside of academia, Lauren is involved with a variety of grassroots activist communities in Toronto and has recently become the columns editor at Shameless Magazine.
