Rosamond S. King

Rosamond S. King, Ph.D. is a critical and creative writer and artist teaching in the English Department at Brooklyn College. Her book Island Bodies: Transgressive Sexualities in the Caribbean Imagination is forthcoming from the University Press of Florida, and her scholarly work on Caribbean and African literature, sexuality, and performance, and has been published in numerous academic collections. She has received numerous honors, including a Fulbright Award, and fellowships from the Woodrow Wilson, Mellon, and Ford Foundations, Poets House, Rutgers University, and the University of Chicago.  King’s community and professional service have included being a board member of the Organization of African Women Writers, the Audre Lorde Project, and the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies at CUNY’s Graduate Center. She is also a poet, artist and performer whose poetry has appeared in more than a dozen journals and anthologies, and she has performed around the world.
