Amar Wahab
Amar Wahab is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Nipissing University, Canada. His research and teaching are situated in social theory, in particular postcolonial studies, with an emphasis on Indians and the cultural politics of identity in the Caribbean. Intersecting areas of interest include transnational and diaspora studies, critical race studies and queer diasporic studies. He is co-editor (with Professors David Dabydeen and Brinsley Samaroo) of the recent publication The First Crossing (2007), a diary found on the first ship that brought Indians to the Americas.
