Tony Lewis

R. Anthony Lewis is a senior lecturer in the Department of Liberal Studies, University of Technology, Jamaica, where he heads the Foreign Languages Division and teaches French and English. His research areas include creolisation and nationalism as well as sexuality in African diaspora communities. His recent publications include “Risking education: Placing Young MSM in the HIV prevention equation” (2009) in Sexuality, Social Exclusion and Human Rights (edited by Christine Barrow, Marjan De Bruin, Robert Carr) and “Through the Prism of Creolisation: Language, Nationalism and Translation” in Translation Studies in the New Millennium (2006). He is a member of the Caribbean Sexuality Research Group and sits on the board of the Caribbean Vulnerable Communities Coalition.
