The PA Clones Catalogue is a manual of the clones of the accession group called Parinari (PA), genetic group, Marañon, and is intended to assist farmers, researchers, cocoa enthusiasts, and other stakeholders in understanding the diversity and potential value of PA cacao clones as superior planting material and parental types in breeding programmes for improved cacao varieties.
The PA cacao clones or accessions, described within the guide, are conserved at the International Cocoa Genebank Trinidad (ICGT), managed by the Cocoa Research Centre (CRC), The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad.
The guide contains botanical notes with fruit and seed data, flower data and leaf flush data and photographs of mature fruits/pods, mature leaves, interflush-2 stage leaves and flushes. The PA accession group has featured prominently in global breeding programmes
