Dr. Perry Polar

Programme Manager HIT RESET Caribbean

Perry Polar has over 25 years’ experience in research, grant writing and project management. Perry is currently managing the Programme: Harnessing Innovative Technologies to Support Resilient Settlements on the Coastal Zones of the Caribbean which is funded by the ACP Innovation Fund, OACPS Research and Innovation programme -a programme implemented by the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States, with the financial contribution of the European Union. He has also managed three European Union funded urban sector projects for The University of the West Indies (UWI) since 2010 and numerous other projects supported by international funding agencies.  

 

Perry was formerly and Insect Pathologist at CABI CLA with major works in biological pesticide development and invasive species. He also does historical and cultural research and makes film as a form of research communication. Details on publications are available at Perry Polar (researchgate.net)

 

Perry holds a Ph.D, M.Phil. and a B.Sc. from UWI. He is a certified Prince 2 Project Manager (APMG-UK). He also has training in Business Management, Resource Mobilization, Biotechnology and Urban planning and management.
