COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course introduces students to skills needed to demonstrate competency in creating, managing, and distributing professional spreadsheets for a variety of specialized purposes and situations. It covers students’ ability to customize Microsoft Excel environments to meet project needs and to enhance productivity. It also covers Excel Expert workbook examples include custom business templates, multiple-axis financial charts, amortization tables, and inventory schedules. 

This course will be taught via a blended delivery mode where content will be delivered via face-to-face and also content placed on myeLearning to be used to support those persons who are independent learners and may not be able to attend scheduled classes. For those opting to attend scheduled classes, attendance must be 70% and above. 

The course will be assessed using an online timed exam from Microsoft. Students will use Gmetrix software as practice for passing the Microsoft Excel Expert 2019 exam. 

Course Aims

The primary aim of the course is to provide students with an advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel 2019.  

The course gives students practical, performance-based scenarios to gauge their real-world capabilities with project and standards-based outcome testing. Students will demonstrate the fundamentals of creating and managing worksheets and workbooks, creating cells and ranges, creating tables, applying formulas and functions and creating charts and objects. Students will be using live-in-the-application environment which will demonstrate that a certified individual have the ability to complete a realistic Excel project. 

At the end of the course students will gain an international Microsoft Excel Expert 2019 Certificate.
