Biography

Jade Trim is an MPhil candidate and research assistant at the IGDS. At the institute, she is the coordinator for the IGDS Ignite feminist mentorship club, and acts as course coordinator and tutor for three undergraduate courses. Her areas of interest include race, gender, and hair, Gender-Based Violence, youth organizing and transnational feminist movements.

Thesis
  • In her thesis, she theorizes about the gendered and raced power relations made relevant within the conversations and observations Afro-descended women have about hair in postcolonial societies like Trinidad and Tobago.
