IELTS is the world’s most popular English language proficiency test which is used for higher education and global migration. IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English and is available in both Academic and General modules.
The Academic module is used by those applying for entry into higher education institutions across North America and Europe while the General module is used mainly for global migration.
The IELTS test consists of four modules which assess the English language skills of candidates in the areas of listening, reading, writing and speaking with band score ranging from 1 to 9, the latter being the highest level.
In Trinidad and Tobago approximately 240 candidates sit the IELTS test each month.
